How we handle personal data submitted through cmestates.com. Last updated 24 August 2026.

Who we are

CMP Estates Ltd ("CMP Estates", "we", "us") is a company registered in England & Wales, company number 16966974, with a registered address at 43 Owston Road, Carcroft, Doncaster, DN6 8DA, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through cmestates.com.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us. If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name (if provided) and the content of your message. Our hosting and email providers also process standard technical data such as IP address and browser information as part of delivering and securing the site, including anti-spam checks.

Why we use it

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, to send you a confirmation that we received it, and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our lawful bases are legitimate interests (responding to business enquiries and protecting the site from abuse) and, where relevant, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. We do not use your details for marketing without your consent, and we never sell personal data.

Who we share it with

Your data is stored and transmitted using service providers acting on our instructions: our website and database hosting provider, and our transactional email provider (used to deliver enquiry notifications and confirmations). We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Contact enquiries are retained for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless we need to keep them longer to meet a legal or accounting obligation or to handle a dispute. After that they are deleted.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of first-party cookies only — there are no advertising networks, no cross-site tracking and no data sold or shared for marketing. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and protect the contact form from abuse; these do not require consent. If you accept analytics, we set a first-party visitor cookie (cmp_vid, 12 months) and a per-tab session identifier, and record which pages you view, the page that referred you and any campaign tags in the link you followed. This is stored in our own database and used only to understand which pages are useful. Your choice is remembered in a cookie (cmp_consent, 12 months) and you can change it at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer; declining or resetting deletes the analytics cookie.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You can exercise any of these by emailing us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have handled your data improperly.

Security

Data submitted through the site is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access restricted to those who need it. No system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive personal or financial information through the contact form.
